COMPETITIVE - COLLEGE ADVISORY PROGRAM

College Recruiting

COLLEGE ADVISORY PROGRAM (CAP)

PURPOSE
Colorado Storm’s College Advisory Program has been designed to address not only the needs of the aspiring college soccer player, but provide a comprehensive overview to the college application process as well as the financial aid process.

AVAILABILITY
The program information will be available as an advisory pamphlet, and also on the club web site www.coloradostorm.com

PROGRAM OVERVIEW
The program consists of information concerning college soccer recruitment, how to get your team's information on the club web site, scheduled college advisory meetings, college showcase tournaments, and websites that can be used as resources.

Playing soccer at college level requires a great deal of effort, but not merely as much as it takes to get there. You’ll need to play at a high level and have exceptional ability, but even then if you haven’t done the homework you’ll most probably not be looked at. Some things are obvious, play premier/elite, play ODP, and go with your team to college showcase tournaments, but there are many questions that go along with this. When can a coach contact you directly? When can you contact the coach? When are they having camps? What is the coach looking for in a player? These types of questions and finding the answers require leg work and this must be done by you the player and Colorado Storm can help!

FIRST STEP - ‘The Player Profile’

We will provide information about you and your team on the club website by you simply providing pertinent information to your designated team CAP Representative. Contact your team to see if they have collected the necessary information that will be produced into a team booklet and posted at the official club website. This way coaches can access what they need to know about you from the website or at a tournament.

What you will need to complete the profile:

  • Passport size picture (1x1)
  • Graduation Date
  • Height and Weight
  • ACT and SAT scores if available
  • GPA and Scale
  • Jersey/Shirt #
  • Playing achievements
  • Academic achievements
  • Contact Information
  • Preferred playing position and playing foot

Are you doing the most you can do? Are you maximizing your playing potential? Is your team going to the right tournaments?
