U10 Recreational Program (8/1/03-7/31/04)

Neighborhood TEAM | Skills Focused Curriculum | Coaches Training Manual  | Semi-Annual Training for Coaches | Practice in Your Local Park 

The Recreational Program is an entry level program for all U-5 to U-19 players. Highlights of the program include neighborhood teams, generally a 7 or 8 game season on Saturdays, preceded by two weeks of practice (weather permitting). Practices are typically at neighborhood parks for Storm South Teams. Semi-annual training sessions are available for all coaches during Super Coaches Saturday. Vacancies on teams are filled and new teams are formed on a first come, first served basis. Winter and summer player skills camps are available to all players for an additional cost for most age groups.

All coaches at this level are parent volunteers.

Fall Season Begins at the End of August and Ends in Early November
Spring Season Begins at the Beginning of March and Ends in the Middle of May

Thunder Program (8/1/03-7/31/04)

TEAM Program | Five Staff Sessions per Season | Six Goalkeeper Sessions per Season | Semi-Annual Training for Coaches | Skills Focused Curriculum | Coaches Training


The Thunder Program is for the player that wants to play competitive soccer at U-11.  They will practice two times per week, with the option for a third day at the Storm Developmental Academy, for an additional cost. The team will receive five Staff training sessions per season. There will be six goalkeeper sessions per season. Participation in the Thunder Program is typically a two year commitment to the program. These teams will have the option to play within our In-house leagues or within the state leagues, Intermediate at U-9 and U-10 age levels. The placement of league play within the state leagues will be with staff involvement.  In the state league the teams will play half the games at Gates and half the games away, while most games will take place within the metro area, the potential to play north to Ft. Collins and south to Colorado Springs is there. Coaches will receive a training packet that will assist them with practices throughout the year. Semi-annual training sessions are available for all coaches prior to each season. The Thunder Program opens the door for teams and players to play at a more advance level moving forward prior to competitive soccer at U-11.

Thunder Gold Program (8/1/03-7/31/04)

The Thunder Gold program is for the most committed player that will play competitive soccer when entering the fifth grade. Program participation is typically a two-year commitment beginning in the Fall season of a player’s U-9 year.  All training will take place at Gates Soccer Complex and will occur three times per week. Outdoor and indoor scrimmages are facilitated over the course of each year. Each Thunder team will play at the highest and most appropriate level. U-10 teams will play two eight game league seasons for the year in the U-10 Intermediate Travel Division (formally known as Option 1).  Home games will be played at the Gates Soccer Complex. Away games are typically played in theDenver metro area but may also be played as far south asPueblo and as far north asFort Collins. In addition, the Thunder Gold Program offers training for all goalkeepers on Fridays, six times each season for a total of 12 times per year. Thunder Gold teams will also be expected to play winter indoor from November to February and summer 3v3, which goes from June to July both of which are additional costs. Thunder Gold is a significant commitment for players and families.  Following completion of the program by the Spring of their U-10 season, these players will be some of the best players in the state.

U-10 Thunder Gold Players are also strongly encouraged to participate in the Elite Players Academy (EPA) conducted on Fridays in the fall and spring.  EPA is for only our best players who are in the Thunder Gold Program.  High level players from outside the club can also participate and register for this camp with the approval of the EPA Program Director and/or the Developmental Director of Coaching.
